Yuguda sacks council chiefs

GOVERNOR Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has  dissolved the caretaker committees of the 20 councils in the state.

The dissolution is contained in a statement issued from the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Dandija, in Bauchi yesterday.

According to the statement, the dissolution of the caretaker committees was informed by the need for effective service-delivery and political neutrality in council administration.

The statement further contained that consequently, sole administrators who consist largely of civil servants have been appointed to run the affairs of the local councils pending the conduct of elections.

As the appointments take immediate effect, the out-going caretaker committee chairmen have been directed to hand over to the sole administrators by September 10, 2012.

The  sole administrators are Yohanna Usman Yashi (Alkaleri); Lawal Baba Ma’aji (Bauchi); Simon Bukata Taimako (Bogoro) Kabiru Adamu Sade (Darazo )and Ahmed Aliyu Jalam (Dambam) while Danlami Baraza  (Dass), among others.
