MUSLIMS and, indeed, all Nigerians have been admonished to repent and turn to Allah for peace to reign in the country.

This is even as people were asked to change their ways for God to better the fortune of the country.

The Chief Imam of Bauchi, Bauchi State, Alhaji Bala Muhammed Baban Inna, gave the admonition in a sermon  after leading the two-raka’at Eid-el-Adha prayers in Bauchi.

The cleric submitted that every Nigerian, irrespective of status, had sinned one way or another against Allah and there was the need for all to repent for the country to overcome its problems.

“The leaders, common man, politicians and, indeed, all of us are committing sins in one way or the other, but Allah has said in the Qur’an that He will put us in trouble once we disobeyed His command. This is the reason we have found ourselves in difficulties like poverty, unemployment, corruption, lack of credible leadership, insecurity and many other problems,” Baban Inna stated.

According to the cleric, Nigerians had to change their ways before Allah could change their situation.

He urged people to make honesty their watchword and always pray for peace, stability and progress of the country.
