‘We Lost Seven in Bauchi Floods’

Bauchi — Caretaker committee chairmen of Zaki and Gamawa local government areas in Bauchi State Alhaji Muhammad Babaji and Alhaji Kabiru Garba respectively yesterday confirmed the death of seven persons in the flood disaster that ravaged the areas recently.

Conducting deputy governor of the state round the affected places. Thecchairmen said the flood washed away farm lands, houses and cut off the road linking Sakwa to Zaki local government area, saying the flood was as a result of overflow of river Katagum and many displaced persons are being kept in some primary schools. Residents of the area told newsmen that the flood cannot be unconnected to a spillover of a neighboring dams in Kano and Jigawa states.
