Police Arraigns House Wife for Killing Her Husband

Bauchi โ€” The Bauchi State Police Command has arraigned a house wife and three others for allegedly killing her husband, Abdullahi Garba aka Manager of Bojinji village in Bauchi local Government area of Bauchi State.

Police Prosecutor, Sergent Michael Christopher filed two separate criminal suits over the incident on behalf of the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police. In suit no CMCVI/289c/2013, the wife Asama’u Haruna, her former husband Adamu Jibrin and his friend Musa Abdullahi were charged with criminal conspiracy, arming themselves and attacking Abdullahi Garba, Asma’u present husband. They hit him with iron cudgels and cut him with machete which resulted in his death. Thereafter, they threw his body inside a well in an effort to conceal their wrong doing, an act contrary to section 96 and 29 of the Penal code.

Christopher also arraigned the father of the accused wife, Mallam Haruna Musa of Abujan Kwata in a seperate suit number CMCVI/309c/2013, wherupon he told the court that the suspect abetted the criminal acts of his daughter Asama’u, and other culprits after they attacked and killed Abdullahi Garba in his house contrary to section 84 of the penal code.

The charges were read before Presiding Senior Magistrate, Shafa’u Ladan Yusuf who adjourned the suit to 27th of May for further hearing and after which the suspects were remanded in prison custody.

In their separate accounts of the incident at the end of the court sitting residents of Abujan Kwata who spoke with newsmen alleged that , Asama’u was once married to Adamu Jibrin, who divorced her three times and according to Islamic laws he cannot marry her again until she marries somebody else first and then ends that marriage.

With her former husband resurfacing she needed her current to divorce her. With that nowhere in sight they resorted to killing him on the night she invited him to her Abujan Kwata house.
