Pilgrims to Be Airlifted From Bauchi Airport

Bauchi โ€” The Bauchi State government said on Wednesday that all intending pilgrims from the state will be airlifted from the state’s N7.8bn international airport which is currently under construction.

The state’s Commissioner for Information, Engineer Mohammed Damina, stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in Bauchi.

He said government is committed to the completion of the project, and that already, the state has paid 70 per cent of the contract sum.

“We are monitoring seriously and believe that it will be completed before this year’s hajj”, he said.

He added that the airport when completed will create employment opportunities and boost economic activities in the state.

Engineer Damina further stated that there are other projects initiated by the administration which are expected to be completed within the year.
