NINE victims of last Sunday’s attack by unknown gunmen in Bogoro Local Council in Bauchi State, have been buried at Yelwa cemetery amid tight security and wailing by members of the state’s chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

The funeral service was held at the Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) centre in Bauchi, while sympathisers, including officials from Bogoro and Bauchi local councils expressed dismay over the dastard act.

Speaking, the Bauchi State Chairman of CAN, Rev. Lawi Pokti lamented that the state government had failed to take pro-active measures on the prevailing security challenges especially in Balewa and Bogoro councils in the state.

The CAN boss urged the government to uphold its duty to protect lives and property of his members. He also called for the arrest of the perpetrators of the crime to further strengthen peace in the state.
