Bauchi โ€” Tradark of Nigeria Ghana in collaboration with their South African affiliate (CODATRUST) is set to establish a tractor company in Bauchi State.

Representative of the company, Mr Olayemi Gbenga, who disclosed this while addressing newsmen yesterday in Bauchi said, “The European technical partner for this project, which will be built in Bauchi, is the reputable Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) of Belarus. It is a socio- economic initiative to produce adequate number of durable and efficient farm tractors to boost agricultural activities in the state in particular and Nigeria in general”.

He said the project will be implemented in two phases, adding that phase one will ensure that MTZ Belarus farm tractors are imported into the country to cater for the immediate requirement of farmers for the current planting season while phase two will involve the establishment of a production line in Bauchi State to assemble MTZ Belarus tractors for farmers.

“The manufacture of MTZ Belarus tractors began over 50 years ago, and they have performed creditably. They have worked efficiently on farms in several African countries in the past 30 years or even more”, he said.
