Nigeria: Bauchi Partners Firm to Build 1000 Houses

The Bauchi State government said it is collaborating with a firm of private estate developers, Mubel Company, to build 1,000 houses in 12 months in Dungal village along Bauchi-Jos road in Bauchi Local Government area of the state.

The state Commissioner of Lands and Housing, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, who stated this Saturday in Bauchi while presenting N2 million cheques as compensation to the 58 people whose lands were affected in Dungal village, said the move was part of government’s effort to provide housing for its citizens in the state.

He also commended the people of Dungal for their support and cooperation.

Hammayo, who was represented at the occasion by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Kani Abubakar Faggo, restated government’s commitment towards the provision of houses for civil servants in the state.

The commissioner said under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the government and the estate developer, the estate developer would construct 1,000 housing units in Dungal within one year and advised the community to assist the construction company to enable it execute meaningful project for the state.

The managing director of the company, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, pledged to build a hospital, bore hole and install a generator set in the community before the commencement of the project as he assured the people of Bauchi State of quality job.

Meanwhile, the district head of Duguri in Bauchi State, Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed Baba, has attributed the appointment of Alhaji Ya’u Mohammed Gital as the Chief of Staff to the Federal Capital Territory minister to his wealth of experience, track records and trustworthiness.
