Nigeria: Bauchi Govt Establishes Five New General Hospitals

Bauchi State Government has established five new General Hospitals over the last one year.

The government has also rehabilitated 1, 204 health facilities in rural areas, as part of efforts to enhance access to quality health care.

Mr Ishola Michael, the Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Isa Yuguda, said this in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi to mark Nigeria’s Democracy Day.

He said the hospitals are located in Bogoro, Jama’are, Shira, Ningi and Bayara.

He added that work on the Kafin-Madaki, Gamawa and Toro hospitals would soon be completed.

Michael who spoke on the achievement of the administration in the area of health care services said the projects were meant to boost access to health care services especially in the rural areas.

He said that the state government had also upgraded the emergency unit of Toro General Hospital to attend to accident victims, particularly those travelling on Bauchi to Jos road. NAN
