The Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro has stated that the ministry will continue to remember the laudable contributions of late Alhaji Ibrahim Jarma, one time Comptroller General of Prisons, who was killed by some gunmen on Monday at Azare in Bauchi State.

In a condolence message to the family of the deceased  and the government and people of Bauchi  State, the  Minister, who  expressed sadness over the gruesome murder  of the former prisons boss said, “it is with profound shock,  but with total  submission to the will of the Almighty God that I received the tragic news of the gruesome murder of Alhaji Ibrahim Jarma at the hands of  yet to be identified gunmen  as he was coming out from the Mosque on Monday.”

According to him, “the death of  Alhaji Jarma is a great loss, not only to Bauchi  State but the nation in general,’ adding: ‘but we are consoled by the fact that the  Nigeria Prisons Service under the Ministry of Interior will not forget in a hurry the selfless service of the deceased to the country and the leadership he provided as Comptroller General of Nigeria Prisons. He truly served his fatherland and we remain inspired by such invaluable patriotism,” he said.

According to the statement signed by his media aide, George Udoh, Moro added  that though the suddenness of the physical separation could be painful  to the family of Alhaji Jarma but they  should take solace in the fact that the late Comptroller–General lived a fulfilled life and impacted positively on humanity  in numerous ways.
