Man Arrested for Impersonating SSS in Bauchi State

| December 16, 2013 More

A 41-year-old man has been apprehended by the State Security Service (SSS) in Bauchi State named Isiaka Ali Pantami due to his alleged offence of impersonating a staff of the SSS.

The Assistant Director of the SSS, Olu Justin, stated that Pantami was arrested due to information provided by the public, as the public was reported to have been collecting money from various people with the promise that he would enable them gain employment in the SSS. He printed forms and sold to people interested in the process.
According to the Assistant Director, “Unfortunately he wrote SSD on top of the form instead of DSS, a situation that prompted one of his victims to contact our staff to confirm if we are recruiting and this led to his arrest.”

The SSS neither collects money for employment nor sells employment opportunities. The suspect said that he is a graduate of the Federal College of Education, Gombe state, and that he got involved in this impersonation scheme due to his inability to gain employment in other areas.
