Kano Bombing – Security Beef-up in Bauchi Bus Parks

Bauchi โ€” Security has been beefed up in motor parks and other areas in Bauchi State metropolis in a bid to prevent a repeat of the bomb incident in Kano State which left over 70 people dead.

Vanguard investigations showed that security checks have also intensified at government-owned institutions as well as commercial banks, tertiary institutions and private companies.

Passengers at the popularly Yankari Motor Park are being scrutinized from the entry gate of the park even as all private vehicles were not allowed into the park.

Apart from this, police check points have re-appeared at strategic locations in the metropolis, especially the entrance roads into the state from Jos, Kano, Gombe and Maiduguri, just as motorists were being subjected to intensive search.

Reacting to the situation, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Hassan Auyo said that the police and other security agencies in the state were not ready to take any chance for any attack by terrorists, especially with what happened in Kano State.

According to the PPRO,”security agents in the state have intensified surveillance to avert any breakdown of law and order. We are doing our best to protect lives and property, but we also urge the public to avail to us any relevant information that could be of use to us.”
