“On the 14th May, 2014 at about 7:45pm, hoodlums attacked a Peugeot 806 Vehicle with number plate XA06BGR while returning from Bogoro Market along Kurum Dodo and Gobiya.

“As a result, a motor cycle rider identified as Bogoro Tafiya Mwari ‘M’ was macheted to dead while the driver, one Isaiah Andrawus and four others, sustained Various degrees of injuries.” He said.

The victims were reportedly taken to Jos University Teaching Hospital and Bogoro General Hospital for medical attention after the attack.

Mohammed also stated that the police has commenced investigations into the attack and all efforts were being made to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Information was also gathered that some irate youths attempted to lynch the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Bogoro LGA where the attack took place, after he was spotted during the burial of the man killed during the attack.

The youths who were shaken by the loss said they were unhappy with the way the Chairman was tackling the issue of insecurity in the community and blamed him for all the lives that have been lost to attacks in the community.

The youth’s violent attacks on the Chairman were however prevented by the swift intervention of the Special Task Force in the area and the Sayawa elders.
