Emir of Bauchi tasks media organizations on ethics, professionalism

The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu has tasked Media organizations in the country to always practise the profession according to its ethics, by presenting accurate and factual
reports that will be very useful to the society.

The Traditional ruler gave the charge when members of the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria,BON,paid him a courtesy call in his Palace in Bauchi.

He said as professionals, journalists are supposed to practice the Media profession with professional touch.

Adding that, the Media is supposed to provide direction for the people, hence the need for Media people to provide accurate and factual information to the citizenry.

The Monarch applauded BON for choosing Bauchi State to host its 58th meeting, saying their coming was very timely considering that the society needs to undergo many changes towards peace.

Responding, The chairman BON Malam Abubakar Jijiwa said they were in the palace of the Emir to solicit his fatherly advice as well as to join hands together in ensuring that lasting peace returns to the country.

According to him, they were in Bauchi for the 58th meeting of the organization, noting that the last time the State hosted the meeting was in 1988 and promised to collaborate with the Emir while working towards the development of communities in the State.
