Chinese Firm Assures Bauchi On US$260 Million Power Plant

Bauchi โ€” The Managing Director of China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) Mr. Liu Zhaolong has restated the commitment of his company to provide a quality independent power plant in Bauchi State.

Mr Liu stated this yesterday when he visited Bauchi State Governor, Malam Isa Yuguda, in Bauchi.

He said “we are really impressed with the development in the state within two years; we have confidence that the power project will come to reality. The total cost of the project is $260m where China Exim Bank the, financier of the project are expected to provide $170m. We hope to kick start the project in the next three months which will last for 28 months in a normal situation but we intend to work day and night to finish it within 18 months if everything is equal.” He said when completed, the power project will end the power problem in the country, particularly in the state, and commended the state government for allocating site that is considered as the best ever allocated to the corporation to undertake such project.
