Bauchi Trains 1500 Women With N77 Million

Bauchi โ€” The Bauchi State government has spent N 77million on the training of 1,500 women on various skills. The state’s Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Talatu Barwa, stated this while addressing newsmen at the weekend in Bauchi.

She said the gesture was aimed at empowering women in the state. Barwa said upon completion of the training, the state government gave each of the women N20,000 to start a trade. “My ministry has trained about 1,500 women on different skills, including shampoo production, bags making, shoes, tie and die etc. the state government spent so much on the women with the aim of making them self reliant in addition to assisting them during Ramadan Tafsir and Christmas festivities,” she said.
