Bauchi to Sponsor 53 Physically Challenged Persons to Tertiary Institutions

Bauchi โ€” The Bauchi State government has expressed its readiness to sponsor 53 physically challenged persons to tertiary institutions. The state’s Commissioner for Social Welfare and Community Development, Alhaji Umar Saleh, stated this while addressing newsmen on activities of the ministry.

“The gesture is part of the state government’s policy to empower physically challenged persons in the state”, he said.

He said already, seven visually impaired persons men are studying at the Yankari Academy while four are at the Ikeja Federal Farm Center for the Blind.

The commissioner said government has spent N68 million on food and clothing items for physically challenged persons in the state.
