Bauchi Seals Off Clinic for Allegedly Removing Patient’s Kidneys

Bauchi โ€” The Bauchi State Ministry of Health has sealed off the Aminchi Clinic and suspended the operating license of the clinic pending the outcome of investigation into an allegation that its owners removed the kidneys of 25-year-old Abubakar Buba.

While sealing the clinic, the state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sani Abubakar Malami, said the action followed a complaint from one Abubakar Buba against the clinic that two of his kidneys were allegedly removed by personnel of the clinic during a surgery. A statement from the office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ishola Michael Adeyemi, said the clinic which is situated on Yakubu Wanka Street within Bauchi metropolis was sealed off to enable the panel set up by the government over the allegation perform its duties.

The commissioner advised patients presently receiving medical attention at the clinic to vacate in line with relevant laws governing medical practice in the country. He assured that all parties will be given fair hearing during the sitting of the panel, after which anyone indicted will be prosecuted in accordance with the laws regulating medical practice in the country.

He added that if at the end, the allegation is proven to be false, the clinic will be re-opened.
