Bauchi โ€” The Bauchi State government has disengaged 50 vaccinators from the on-going polio eradication campaign in the state for various offences.

Executive Secretary of the state’s Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA), Dr. Nisser Aliyu Umar, disclosed this yesterday while monitoring the immunization exercise in Itas Gadau Local Government Area of the state.

He said, “The affected persons have been black listed in the data base of the agency, and as such none of them would ever be given any role to perform. Civil servants among them will have their names forwarded to their respective ministries/agencies for appropriate disciplinary action”.

He said the agency engaged over 12, 000 vaccinators, as well as 223 focal persons and 20 local immunization officers. Umar further stated that the agency discovered that the selection of some of the vaccinators was not thorough as some of them were found to be incompetent.

“During the monitoring exercise, we discovered that some vaccinators falsified data. So far, we have disengaged 12 vaccinators in Alkaleri Local Government Area, and some others in Itas/Gadau and other areas,” he said.
