Bauchi prosecutes 12 suspects over killing of CMD, district head

Bauchi State Ministry of Justice has arraigned 13 suspects for allegedly killing the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Azare, Dr. Musa Dambam, and the District Head of Yamai, Alhaji Manu Adamu.

The accused are Ibrahim Shehu alias Jurara, Usman Abdulhamid, Musa Ibrahim Alias Dadi, Mohammed Jauro Dunga, Jauro Shehu Adamu, Mohammed Adamu village head of Yame, Abdu Yarima, Mr. Sale Yarima, Kawu Abubakar, Ubale Ibrahim, Hassan Inusa alias Sarkin Gaina, Sani Yerima and Ahmed Yerima.

The prosecution counsel, Noma Haruna told the court that a report was received at Dambam Police Station that gunmen numbering about six in military uniforms had abducted one Dr. Musa Dambam of FMC Azare and his stepmother, Aishatu Adamu.

They drove them to the district head of Yame House where they robbed them of unspecified amount of money and subsequently killed both of them and burnt down the car belonging to Dr. Dambam. During investigations,12 suspects were arrested by police in connection with the incident.

Noma said the accused were charged with criminal conspiracy and mischief by fire. They were also accused of causing the death of the two deceased persons by shooting them with a gun through gunmen whom they engaged for that purpose contrary to Sections 97, 221 and 336 of the Penal Code Law.
