Bauchi NLC decries growing insecurity, unemployment

The Bauchi State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has decried the growing spate of bombing and kidnapping in the country, calling on security agents to double their efforts and fish out the perpetrators.

It also urged the federal government to wake up to its responsibilities and address the challenges of insecurity bedevilling the North-east region before it worsens.

The state NLC Chairman, Mr. Hasimu Gital, who threw, the challenge during the Workers Day celebration in Bauchi, lamented that the issue of insurgency, kidnapping and killing of innocent citizens has continued to trouble people living in the North and little is being done to redress the situation.

Labour also expressed concern over the high rate of unemployment in the country, saying over 25 per cent of the nation population is unemployed.
