Bauchi MDGs Spends N1.2 On Hospitals, Others

BAUCHI State Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) has expended over N1.28b on provision of health care facilities in twenty local government councils across the state.

Speaking to newsmen on the activities of his office yesterday, the permanent secretary and state focal person on MDGs Bauchi state, Alhaji Sambo Umar Jimberi said 20 brand new PHCs have been constructed and 20 units of staff quarters are attached to each.

Items provided include 20 hand-pump boreholes, hospital equipment, furniture and drugs.

Other items in the package include supply of library equipment to School of Nursing, School of Midwifery Bauchi, College of Health and Technology, Ningi and the construction of school clinics at the college of Health Technology, Ningi.

He explained that the intervention in the Health institutions was a deliberate attempt to boosting staff strength of the health sector in the state.
