BAUCHI State governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has assured people of the state of his government’s determination to ensure peaceful co-existence of all ethnic groups in the state, even as he described the state as home for all and the most peaceful in the entire North-East geopolitical zone.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new executive members of the Igbo community in Bauchi State recently, Governor Yuguda, who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Igbo Affairs, Chief Chukwuebere Joseph, said everyone who had spent up to the constitutionally stipulated period of seven years was an indigene of Bauchi State, calling on all to work towards achieving long lasting peace in the state.

“Everybody is always going about his normal business without any fear of molestation because the administration of Isa Yuguda and the security agencies are always working round the clock to ensure the security of life and property,” he said.

He, however, commended the Igbo community for conducting a free and fair election to elect its leader, attributing this to the peaceful atmosphere in Bauchi State.

Also, speaking on the occasion, the deputy registrar of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, Dr Andy Iheme, while congratulating the new executive members, told the leaders to always carry their people along in whatever they were doing.
