Bauchi Gives Relief to Fire Victims

Bauchi โ€” Bauchi State government has distributed relief materials to victims of the mysterious fire that gutted several houses in Misau Local Government Area of the state.

The government said that the fire that burnt over 60 houses has be brought under control.

State Commissioner of Works, Pharm Bukata Bukar Bayero stated this while speaking with newsmen on the activities of his ministry.

H enoted that, “When the incident happened the ministry had deployed fire fighters to the area, they did their best and the situation was brought under control” Mr Bayero said the state government intended to open and build four fire stations in four local government areas that included Jama’are, Misau, Dass and Ningi local government area, and most of the headquarters of the local government areas for quick response towards emergencies.

The commissioner said the government had recruited 258 fire fighters in order to add to the additional manpower in the existing fire stations and in its effort to reduce unemployment, adding that government would also procure fire fighting vehicles and equipments for the new stations.

He said the government intended to construct more additional roads in various places in the state after the completion of the current ongoing road projects that are expected to be completed this year.

Mr Bayero added that the government was committed to complete the building of ongoing international airport, construction of Ningi- Burra Road, Alkaleri – Futuk Road before the end of the year to enable this year’s intending pilgrims depart from the airport ,and explained dwindling of resources and economic meltdown as the major problems that slowed down the execution of legacy projects in the state.
