Bauchi Distributes Computers to Secondary Schools

| April 29, 2013 More

Bauchi โ€” The Bauchi State government has procured and distributed computers to 100 senior secondary schools in preparation for e-test examinations.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Aminu, stated this in Bauchi at the weekend when he monitored the Joint and Matriculation Board examinations in the state.

He said, “The state government is determined to equip the remaining secondary schools with computers, and recruit adequate computer instructors that will train both the teachers and students on how to use them for the development of education.” On the threat to embark on fresh industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASSUS) Bauchi State chapter, the commissioner said the case is being attended to at the office of the Head of Service.

He appealed to the teachers to shelve the decision to embark on industrial action in the interest of education, especially now that the students are writing external examinations.
