Bauchi Citizens Endorse National Conference

The Bauchi South Peoples Parliament, a socio- political uniting the peoples of the southern part of the state has commended the Nigerian Government for convening the National Conference, saying it will create the enabling environment for Nigerians from all strata of the society with different shades of opinions to dialogue with each other and resolve their differences amicably.

Mallam Danlami Danfulani, leader of Bauchi South Peoples Parliament, in a press statement made available to Leadership in Bauchi on Wednesday, 19 March, said the people of Bauchi South support the initiative and will give their representative at the Conference, Dr. Garba Ibrahim Kirfi, all the the support he needs in order to succeed in representing the people of the state at the National Conference.

“We of the Bauchi South Peoples Parliament and our people in Bauchi South in particular and Bauchi State at large sincerely commend Mr. President and Commander In-Chief of the Nigeria Armed Forces, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, for his foresight in initiating the National Dialogue,” the Bauchi group said.

“The Bauchi South Peoples Parliament believes that the conference is coming at the right time when our dear country is facing certain obvious challenges such as insecurity, poverty, unemployment, corruption, unprecedented economic hardship, ethnic and religious conflicts, to mention a few,” Danfulani said.

The  Parliament said it believes that the National Conference is timely because it would create the enabling environment for the country’s problems to be confronted, discussed, and resolved. “We also believe that these socio-economic and political problems which threaten our corporate existence must not taken lightly,” Danfulani said.

Danfulani also Nigeria is blessed with both human and material resources that can make it great, and hence, there is the need for a healthy dialogue amongst all peoples of various ethnic nationalities in the country.

“We believe that as a nation that is reckoned by the international community as a fast developing nation with a potential vibrant economy, our destiny lies in our corporate existence,” the group added.
