Bauchi — All Progressives Congress (APC) Bauchi State chapter, has postponed its ward congress to Wednesday to enable it meet the criteria set up by the national secretariat of the party for the commencement of the exercise.
A reliable source in the committee said all required materials for the congress had arrived in the state, and sale of nomination forms for various positions had commenced.

The state interim chairman of the party, Senator Mohammed A. Mohammed, confirmed the date in a telephone interview with our correspondent yesterday in Bauchi.
He said the committee set up by the national leadership of the party are currently visiting security agencies to solicit their cooperation over the congress.
A stakeholder of the party told newsmen at the end of their meeting in Bauchi that, the decision to shift the congress was informed by the late arrival of materials for the conduct of the event.
He said “It was not possible to conduct the congress on Saturday as earlier planned because of logistics problems encountered not only in Bauchi State but in many states across the country,”
He said the committee to oversee the congress had held a stakeholders meeting with all relevant party chiefs to ensure the success of the exercise.
He said “anybody wishing to contest in the election should purchase the forms at designated banks and all completed forms must be returned to the committee on Monday in order to conduct the congress on Wednesday we have commenced distributions of the forms to all who brought their Bank teller around 1pm Sunday.”
