APC’ll wrest power from PDP in Bauchi if… – Ex-commissioner

| November 19, 2013 More

A group in the Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bauchi Progressive Circle, has declared that the party is capable of wresting power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) provided all stakeholders in the party resolve their differences and work towards building the party to make it a formidable party ahead of the 2015 general election.

Addressing journalists in Bauchi, on Monday, chairman of the group and a former Commissioner for Environment in the state, Alhaji Uba Ahmed Nana, acknowledged the fact that all the major parties that came together to form the APC had their internal differences before the merger but added that now that they were under a single party, it was high time for members to bury their differences in the larger interest of the party and work together.

Commenting on the recent disruption of the convention of the party in the state to elect its interim leaders by some youths, Uba Nana described the action as a normal political intrigue, which he said, was unfortunate, submitting, however, that in spite of what happened, everything would be resolved amicably and the party would emerge stronger in the state.

While saying that his group would welcome any leadership appointed for the party in Bauchi State by its national leaders, the former commissioner declared that, “we welcome any officer, whoever he is, appointed by the national leadership of the party, to oversee the affairs of the party in the state.”
