The council boss told the people that the state government was ready to ensure adequate provision of health care facilities for the people of the state, adding that the government had already been providing free ante natal services and routine immunisation for pregnant women and children in the area.

Represented by the head of administration in the local government, Alhaji Aliyu Adamu, the chairman called on the people of the area to embrace government policies aimed at protecting their lives, adding that there was an urgent need for the people to maintain personal hygiene as well as ensure that they live in clean environment.

In his own submission, the Director of Primary Health Care in the local government area, Alhaji Sama’ila Yusuf, stated that people’s refusal to participate in routine immunisation was responsible for the outbreak of the virus in the area.

While presenting drugs and injections for the prevention of diphtheria to the communities, the director informed that the local government recently bought and distributed chlorine to the people of the area to use in treating all wells in their communities so as to avoid contacting water borne diseases.
