| December 12, 2012 More

Seventeen polio victims, who were admitted at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, Nasarawa State, for corrective surgery, have returned to Bauchi after the procedure, said Dr Ado Buba.

The Coordinator, Trauma Centre, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi, told newsmen in Bauchi that the children, who were discharged on Tuesday, were “100 per cent stable”.

He, however, said that the children would return to Keffi after two weeks for check-up.

“The 17 children underwent the corrective procedure at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, and they are stable.

“So we have discharged them and their next appointment will be in the next two weeks,’’ he said.

Buba said that after the check-up, those that would have to undergo additional surgery would be identified.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency sponsored the surgeries in collaboration with Rotary International.
